Jammu and Kashmir's senior police officer Imtiyaz Hussain slammed bureaucrat-turned-politician Shah Faesal after he criticised the government for abrogating the provisions under Article 370. Hussian charged Faesal with spreading "hopelessness" instead of accepting "new realities" of Jammu and Kashmir.

"I admire @shahfaesalfor his sheer brilliance & articulation. Being a leader he can't sell hopelessness. History never has one version only. He'll have to accept the new realities & lead us to realise the dreams of this generation of Kashmiris which our country promises," Hussain tweeted.

"Today what has been done, is by resorting to complete illegality by completely murdering the Constitution in the house of people of this country," he said.

Article 370 earlier accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir. On August 5,the government issued a fresh Presidential Order withdrawing special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The charge against Faesal came after he was stopped from taking a flight to Istanbul at the Delhi airport during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. He was flown back to Srinagar where he was detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

The former bureaucrat from Jammu and Kashmir had floated the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement party following his resignation from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
